Whitewater Ontario Hires New Canoe Slalom Coach

OTTAWA - Whitewater Ontario is very excited to announce that Anthony Colin has been hired as the provincial Canoe Slalom Head Coach. This new position which is based out of Ottawa will provide top quality coaching for canoe slalom athletes at both the development and high performance levels.

A native of France, Anthony brings considerable experience to the position including fourteen years coaching with various clubs in France as well as Scotland. An accomplished paddler himself, Anthony brings not only technical expertise to the position but also knowledge of athlete development. While he has worked successfully with national level athletes he excels at working with developing paddlers who are interested in racing and competition. Although Anthony will live and work in Ottawa he will be reaching out to other WO clubs interested in developing a slalom program.

“Anthony is exactly the kind of person we were looking for when we began our search earlier this year” says Whitewater Ontario President Jim Tayler. “This is a big step for our organization and having the right coach is going to make all the difference in how we build our canoe slalom development programs in Ottawa and across the province”.

With a master’s degree in Physical Education and a background in Marketing and Sport Management, Anthony brings a strong and experienced skill set to the position which commences February 1, 2016.
